Company: Sony Online Entertainment The EverQuest II web site has been a huge success for Sony Online. EverQuest II fans and prospective customers are now raving over the game.
The design and development of this site pushes the limits of web design, taking advantage of the new abilities introduced in Flash, as well as XML and our own CMS system. Website design and development project included: Web design in Flash, ActionScript, XML, CMS, JSP, HTML and CSS. There were many challenges during the design, development and implementation of the web site. This includes: planning, design, asset delivery, validity of content, and time allowance. Much of this was caused by exploring new uses of existing technology which has not been widely used or achieved in the industry, and the fact that the game, EverQuest II, was changing its design during our development. We’ve learned a number of lessons during this project, but we are proud to say that despite these challenges, we were able to follow through with our promise to bring a great site together in the time allowed.
